The move delivers another major boost to Sidley’s London ambitions.
Over the past year, the firm has been aggressively scaling its City practice, bringing in high-profile names including leveraged finance partners Jay Sadanandan and Sam Hamilton from Latham & Watkins, and capital markets partners Scott Colwell and Patrick Kwak.
Just earlier this month, Sidley also added David Stewart, former co-chair of Latham’s London corporate team, as a capital markets partner.
The latest hires strengthen Sidley’s ambition to build out one of the City’s leading leveraged finance and private equity benches, with a clear focus on sponsor-side work.
Meanwhile, Weil has named James Bromley and James Sargent to co-lead its London private funds practice, following Gander’s departure, according to Financial News.
