Simmons will relocate its London HQ to 25 Finsbury Circus in 2030, ending a nearly 30-year run at Citypoint.

The announcement comes as the firm prepares for a leadership transition and continues its strong growth trajectory.

Simmons & Simmons will move its London headquarters to 25 Finsbury Circus in 2030, ending nearly three decades at its long-standing Citypoint HQ on Ropemaker Street.

The new HQ will give Simmons a high-profile address overlooking Finsbury Circus Gardens - the largest open space in the City - in a move the firm says is about "enhancing its proposition to its people".

Simmons has been the lead tenant at Citypoint since 2001, occupying 133,000 sq ft. It's signed for up to 180,000 sq ft at its new base, according to reports.

"It has been a great building for us as we have grown and adapted as a firm since becoming lead tenant back in 2001", the firm told Law360.

Bigger picture

The move marks a new chapter for Simmons as it gears up for long-term growth.

The firm recently named disputes chief Emily Monastiriotis as its next managing partner, succeeding Jeremy Hoyland, who has led the firm since 2011. She takes over in May.

Simmons has delivered strong performance in recent years, successfully navigating the pandemic and its aftermath with solid results.

Revenue hit £574 million in 2023/24 - up nearly 50% over the past five years.

What they said

Current managing partner Hoyland said:

"This dynamic office space is an excellent fit for the firm and a strong statement of our ambitions. Like the firm itself, it combines heritage with innovation – and most importantly, it’s equipped to meet our growth objectives."
