Macfarlanes adds nine partners in cross-practice promotions round.

Broad focus for the firm, but private client and corporate teams get two partners each.

Macfarlanes has made up nine new partners in its latest promotions round.

It's a meaningful step up on the six promoted in last year’s round.

The lawyers that made the cut:

  • Pinar Celebi - Leveraged Finance
  • Iskra Doukova - Private Client
  • Caja Griesenbach - Competition
  • Greg James - Corporate/M&A
  • Sarah Ling - Tax
  • Sindhuja Shriananda - Real Estate
  • Mark Stichbury - Private Client
  • Alice Temkin - Corporate
  • Jacob Ward - Litigation

Senior partner Sebastian Prichard Jones said: “Promoting new partners is a key part of our firm's growth, and I am delighted to welcome this year's cohort to the partnership.

Their expertise spans a broad mix of practice areas, reflecting the diverse strengths of our firm and the opportunities we see across the market.”

On a high

Macfarlanes was a stand-out performer among City firms last year.

The City stalwart’s revenue increased by 14% to reach £309 million, while PEP soared 24% to £2.6 million - a record high for Macfarlanes that’s among the highest of any City firm that reports its results.

The firm said that its litigation and investigations practice enjoyed a record year, while its “market leading private client and tax practices saw extraordinary demand”.
